At Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh (HFHGP) we are proud of the great work our volunteers have been doing. In 2016 we completed 35 Neighborhood Revitalization Projects and 2 Home Rehabilitation Projects for our Partner Families for a total of 37 projects. This is the largest number of projects we have ever done in one year! Throughout our history, we have worked in various neighborhoods in the city of Pittsburgh. The work we have done would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of all of our volunteers. We are extremely grateful for everything they have done and we hope to continue expanding our impact in the coming years! Keep up the hard work.
We are excited to announce that starting January 1st, 2017, all hours that you volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh will be recorded and you could win prizes for your hard work! Be sure to keep your own record of your hours, that way you know when you have reached a certain reward tier. Once you reach that tier, you may contact Sean Mann at email@example.com to verify your hours and you will receive your prize the next time you volunteer. If you do not verify your hours, we will check them at the end of each month and notify you if you have won a prize. You can schedule a time to pick up your reward at the office, or collect it the next time you volunteer. If you volunteer at both our Construction sites and at our ReStore, your hours will combine, but at different rates. The ReStore tiers are about 1.5 times larger than the construction tiers because the ReStore has a regular schedule which is generally easier for volunteers to work with than the construction schedule, which is often booked on Saturdays and other days in the week. See below for more details.
The first time you volunteer with Habitat Greater Pittsburgh on a construction site, you’ll be asked to fill out a waiver form, either online or in person. Every time you volunteer, you will need to check-in with the site supervisor. At the job sites you will work from 9am-3pm and complete a total of 6 hours each day you volunteer. If you leave the site early for any reason, you will be asked to sign out at the time that you leave. The same applies if you arrive late for any reason.
The hours are cumulative meaning you keep gaining hours after you receive a reward. For example, you will receive the first reward at 24 hours volunteered, and then the second reward after completing 24 more hours, not 48 more.
The tiers for construction volunteers are as follows:
24 Hours = Habitat Water Bottle
48 Hours = Habitat Mug
78 Hours = Habitat Hat
102 Hours = Habitat Shirt
120 Hours = ReStore Gift Card
Every time you volunteer with Habitat Greater Pittsburgh at our ReStore, you will need to clock in and out through Volunteerhub on a computer there. For your first time working at the ReStore, you will need to fill out some volunteer information. We will record your hours and you will get a reward each time you reach a tier. If you do not clock-in, there will be no way to record your hours and you will not receive prizes.
The hours are cumulative meaning you keep gaining hours after you receive a reward. For example, you will receive the first reward at 36 hours volunteered, and then the second reward after completing 36 more hours, not 72 more.
The tiers for ReStore Volunteers are as follows:
36 Hours = Habitat Water Bottle
72 Hours = Habitat Mug
114 Hours = Habitat Hat
150 Hours = Habitat Shirt
180 Hours = ReStore Gift Card
