Volunteer Spotlight: Farewell to our AmeriCorps Members

July 14, 2015: For the past year, we've had the privilege of working with 3 amazing AmeriCorps members.

Allison Lenz has been serving as our Volunteer Services Coordinator. If you have volunteered for us in the past year, you have likely received communications from Allison! She has provided great support in scheduling and coordinating our volunteers, keeping volunteer opportunities posted and up-to-date on our VolunteerHUB website, and assisting with our Women Build event this past May.

Chaska Yoder, an AmeriCorps volunteer brought to us through the P.U.L.S.E. organization, has served as our Community Outreach and Development fellow. In this role, Chaska has built and cultivated relationships with local churches and community partners, has designed and written our monthly E-Newsletter, and has helped us communicate with and sustain relationships with our partner families.

Mark McNally is currently serving as a Construction Team Leader with us. Mark works alongside our Construction Supervisor, Dave, to provide a safe and meaningful experience to hundreds of volunteers in completing home rehabilitation and repair projects for our local partner families. Mark has mastered construction techniques such as framing, drywall, painting, etc. during his time with Habitat and has enjoyed it so much, that he is signing on with us for a second year of service with us through AmeriCorps. The love is mutual, Mark – we’re thrilled to have your continued service in the coming year!

These AmeriCorps members are about to finish up their one-year terms of service, and for those that are leaving Habitat, we are certain that they will each go on to do amazing things at other companies and organizations! We cannot thank these folks enough for all the hard work, talents, and laughter they have brought to our organization. Thanks, AmeriCorps members, for all your hard work – please know that wherever you may go, you will always be part of our Habitat family.
