Mayor Bill Peduto and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh kicked off the Veterans Day Parade in downtown Pittsburgh by holding a press conference to announce a new Veterans Homeownership Initiative (VHI). The VHI is a partnership between Habitat Pittsburgh, the City of Pittsburgh, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and Shepherd’s Heart Veteran’s Home, which will provide homeless and disabled veterans with the opportunity to own a decent, affordable home.
