September 1, 2014: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh welcomes volunteer writer Dr. Coohill.
Many volunteers want to share their talents, yet it often does not involve swinging a hammer or using a paintbrush. One such volunteer is Dr. Joseph Coohill, a new part of Habitat's volunteer team. He has committed to work pro bono, assisting in the writing of our media releases, newsletters, and annual appeal.
He writes clear and persuasive analytical pieces as well as articles and features for popular audiences. He is the author of two acclaimed full-length books and articles in scholarly journals. He has written feature pieces and book reviews for the Post-Gazette, and popular articles for History Today and other magazines and online publications.
Dr. Coohill has written successful grant proposals and has established strong media presence, commenting on historical events and issues in higher education. He is particularly interested in ghostwriting autobiographies, local and regional histories, and other major projects. He earned his doctorate in modern history at Oxford University and has sophisticated knowledge of world history and international affairs. We welcome Dr. Coohill to our volunteer team and recommend him as a resource.
