McKeesport Revitalization Project

October 18, 2014: Growth Throught Energy and Community Health (GTECH) partnered with Habitat in order to beautify a vacant lot in McKeesport."

Volunteers and staff for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh and Growth Through Energy and Community Health, came together one Saturday morning in October to beautify a vacant lot in McKeesport.  Activities for the day included installing fencing, applying mulch, and planting flowers and shrubs.  Many volunteers came as part of GTECH's Ambassador program, an initiative that educates and equips local residents to transition vacant lots into vibrant community spaces. The event took place on a future build-site for a Habitat house.

Many thanks to the volunteers who helped with this project and to Veltre's Pizza for providing an extra boost of energy around lunchtime.
