November 17, 2014: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh held a community-driven donation drive in Fox Chapel on Sunday, November 16th.
Thanks to the support of Guardian Storage, the drive was held at Guardian's facility in Fox Chapel located at 1390 Old Freeport Road. Fox Chapel area resident and Habitat volunteer Lisa Rutkowski, who organized the drive, stated, “Habitat needs the support of the community, and this drive is a tremendous way to help. Whether you want to donate to a good cause or simply get rid of unused household goods, items donated to the ReStore help fund Habitat’s projects in the area, and really make a difference not just in the lives of the Habitat program families, but the entire community.”
From Noon-3pm, Habitat volunteers and staff members collected new and gently-used items including furniture, appliances, décor, hardware, and other household and office goods for the Habitat ReStore. Habitat would like to thank the donors who supported this event...the proceeds will help Habitat provide homes for families in the Pittsburgh region. Habitat would also like to extend a big thank you to Peet's Coffee and Giant Eagle who donated coffee and snacks to keep our fantastic volunteers warm throughout the duration of this event.
Missed the donation drive? No worries! You can bring your donations to our ReStore in Edgewood Towne Centre during our business hours (currently Mondays 3-7pm and Tuesdays thru Saturdays 10am - 4pm.)
