April 14, 2015: Students join Habitat for alternative Spring Break trips.
Nineteen students from Providence College in Rhode Island joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh as part of their alternative spring break. The group came for a week and spent much of their time participating in demolition. Students tore out windows, doors, countertops, walls, and ceilings, needed work for the homes on their way towards rehabilitation. A few weeks later, a group of 18 students from the Missouri University of Science and Technology spent three days with us, doing similar demolition work. Both groups were helpful and contributed valuable volunteer hours with us. We appreciate their willingness to spend spring break serving in our Pittsburgh community.
